There is a particular challenge in designing a brand identity for a marketing agency. The client knows exactly what good branding looks like, which means the work has to be genuinely considered, not just competent. For BuNo, a conscious marketing agency, the brief demanded something more specific still: a visual identity that felt classic and enduring, without being stiff or conventional.
The strategic direction settled on a clear concept: modern classic. A brand that carries the authority of timeless design principles while remaining clean, current, and relevant to the audiences BuNo serves. Every element of the identity was developed in service of that idea.
The logo is a text-based mark, framed by a thin border that adds structure and presence without visual weight. Serif typography was selected deliberately, chosen for the qualities it carries: heritage, credibility, and a quiet confidence that does not need to announce itself. The framed format gives the wordmark a composed, considered quality, the visual equivalent of a brand that knows exactly what it stands for.
The colour palette is entirely achromatic, consisting of black, white, and carefully considered grey tones. This restraint is not a limitation; it is a strategic choice. An achromatic palette communicates sophistication and versatility, allowing BuNo’s brand to sit comfortably across a wide range of contexts and applications without ever competing with the content it frames. It also signals conscientiousness: a brand that has nothing to prove through colour has earned its confidence through substance.
Social media templates were developed within the same visual language, giving BuNo a consistent, professional toolkit for digital communications. The minimalist approach translates naturally to social media formats, where clarity and visual discipline tend to perform well in feeds crowded with more visually aggressive content.
Throughout the project, the guiding principle was restraint. Not minimalism for its own sake, but a deliberate reduction to what matters, a visual identity that communicates BuNo’s values through what it chooses not to do as much as through what it does.
